The UdL has had European-compatible degrees in Forestry since 1992. It adopted very early the ECTS system, and adapted all programmes to Bologna already in 2001, but reformulated contents and competences in 2009 to improve professional qualifications and employability.

Currently participates in European Network of Cooperative and Work Integrated Higher Education (2014-1-ES01-KA203-004321) for dual higher education.

Beyond two professionally accredited degrees in Forest Engineering (BSc and MSc), the development of other MSc programmes focused on Natural Resources Management and Natural Hazards has already taken place in the last 10 years: MSc European Forestry Erasmus mundus (2004-2009, 2010-2015, 2017-2021, 2019-2025), MSc Mediterranean Forestry and Natural Resources Management (2011-2016, 2017-2021) and MSc in Wildland Fire and Science. Previous collaboration i.e. with UEF and BSAA has led to other ongoing projects such as SUSFOR: Support for vocational training in sustainable forestry (543946-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-ES-TEMPUS-JPHES) (2014-2017); QANTUS: Qualifications Frameworks for Environmental Science at Ukrainian Universities (544524-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-PL-TEMPUS-SMHES) (2013-2016);ENAGRA-Environmental curricula at agricultural universities (159188-TEMPUS-1-2009-1-PL-TEMPUS-JPCR) (2010-2013).
